Directly addressing a close friend serving a lengthy sentence in prison, Maxo’s “Meet Again” is a soulful and introspective new single that foregoes the dark and futuristic production for which he’s known. It has a nostalgic, soul-sampling instrumental, reminiscent of fellow Houstonian Scarface’s work with Kanye West and the beat provides a sentimental backdrop for Maxo’s reflective second-person bars. The new track was produced by Teej, a frequent Maxo collaborator, and co-produced and mixed by Houston legend Mike Dean. “Meet Again” will be Maxo’s first new single since the release of Punken, Maxo’s critically acclaimed 2018 album, and is his latest track since the creative clip for “Roaches” (2.8M YouTube views).
