With a new website/merch launch, Shy Glizzy is changing his name to Jefe, a name fans of the D.C. artist are already familiar with from his Young Jefe series – the new moniker signifies a lifestyle change for the “Awwsome“ rapper. “I’m just rebranding myself,” Jefe tells The FADER. “Reinventing on a whole higher level. I earned the title Jefe. It comes with maturity, more responsibility, and putting more people in the position of being a boss in every aspect. With a name like that, you don’t have a choice”
“One” is the first single from Jefe’s forthcoming The World Is Yours EP, which releases this Friday, 1/6 via Glizzy Gang. The track was produced by Zaytoven, making it the latest hit from the frequent collaborators, with notable previous work together that includes 2015’s For Trappers Only mixtape in addition to “Bankroll” and “Think About It” from 2016’s Young Jefe 2 album. With features from YoungBoy Never Broke Again, 3 Glizzy, Ralo, and Kash Doll, Jefe’s The World Is Yours EP is available for pre-order now.
