With influences coming from all over the place, Born 2 B’s sound is Hip-Hop with a twist that includes hints of Reggae, Jazz, Soul and even Ska. When it all boils down he has his own original, London style that can be found on a number of releases including his new single, “Musical Evolution.”

One of the first white rappers in the UK hip-hop scene long before Eminem crossed the pond, BORN 2 B notes of his sound, “I am a product of my environment and I write my lyrics to report what I am seeing around me, reporting what life is like in the suburbs of London, UK. Musically, I have absorbed all of my musical influences throughout my life and in Hip-Hop fashion, represent them in my own unique way.”

Making his debut in 1990, Born 2 B is no stranger to releasing well-tuned music. A year later he was approached by Us3 producer’s Geoff Wilkinson and Mel Simpson to write and record lyrics for a jazz/hip-hop instrumental they were working on. Geoff had already approached Ninja Tune with the idea, however when they heard the vocal version, they signed them up for a release. “The Band Played The Boogie” was the label’s fourth single release and most successful at that time, helping establish the Ninja Tune label.

“The Band Played The Boogie” was just the beginning as Born 2 B was a major player in Us3 being signed to Blue Note/EMI, as well as a successful solo artist after with 2000’s “London’s Burning”, “The Return of the Boogie” in 2007 and of course his current release on Hustlerz Inc. Recordings, “Musical Evolution.” After that, he plans on dropping another single in July 2018 entitled “Still Waitin’” with a new album to come in September 2018; “Original Olde English”.

BORN 2 B has a lot of music on the way, as well as some TBA tour dates.
