Konshens shared his thoughts on Drake being labeled a culture vulture for using the Dancehall sound in his recent music, which the Jamaican-born artist sees nothing wrong with. Konshens added that at times he feels like a culture vulture, and said that it’s just part of the music business.
Listen to the above clip to hear more of what Konshens had to say, including his own definition of a culture vulture.

CULTURE VULTURE IS A MADE UP TERM LIKE CULTURAL APPROPRIATION.
that nigga Drake ride maaad waves, he's not a musician, he's a boogie boarder.
Rooster head ass
what about Major Lazer?
You do know that reggae and dancehall aren't the same right?
Kendrick just outsold Drake, i know that hurt his pride, seeing that he always brags about his numbers vs other rappers
Drake dickriders incoming
Drake is top 10
Hip Hop came from Jamaican Sound Clash Culture but rapping is a form of poetry and has been around to centuries and within many cultures.
He is right, we're all culture vultures to a degree and it's more to do with business.
how can a black man be a culture vulture when it comes to black music???? Toronto Canada is filled with Carribean people. Damn near everyone black is from the West Indies in Canada, so hes not stealing shit.
How can Vlad even call anybody a Culture Vulture when that nigga is doing the same thing bruh
How can you call yourself a culture vulture if nobody knows who you are??
well said ?
Dancehall did NOT create Afrobeat. Afrobeat sounds or sounded very different from Dancehall. However, Afrobeat has been taking a more dancehall approach when it comes to certain African artists/ producers.
The issue that people keep skipping over is the samples that drake used on once dance…the artists were credited as "features" and compensated through publishing. So exposure is different from getting paid. All the dancehall reggae "vocal" samples he used on the album..there was two I believe…the artists are only maybe listed in writing credits and not listed as a feature. So if you are looking at a track listing you wouldnt know an artist is on a song.
Central America has been listening to Jamaican music since the 80s and 90s. they love dancing to it.
afrobeat/pop and dancehall are not the same thing tho
Like the man said, people just love good music! Drake is good for the game of music.
Toronto talk like that so how?
Damn he Kissing Drake ass more the DJ Akademiks ??
Shit I always thought Jamaican music came from Jamaica….. So you guys are now giving Africa random credit for genres of music that literally they had no hand in creating?
Half the shit they do in Africa they get it from blacks in the west… No wonder Africans walk around like they own western blacks. You guys have no pride in yourselves or your cultures… Watch if any of you Afro Americans start doing afrobeats how much backlash and lawsuits you'd encounter. Remember they went at you alls necks because of you guys wearing dashikis….
At some point western blacks will have to start taking pride in their own cultures. You guys are going to have to say this is mine you can't take it…… Jamaican music comes from Africa…. yeah right.
Jason Darulo looking ahh
If you grow up in Toronto, you're Jamaican by default, drake is not a vulture, you American blacks are so ethnocentric, BLACKNESS do not evolve only around you
I'm pretty sure the culture in Toronto is all about reggae and dance hall music. all he did was bring it to America. y'all just love to hate the nigga is all
I don't even like Drake. But this whole culture Vulture shit is fucking stupid. Why does it matter if a white guy raps or if a canadian does dancehall? Just enjoy the music and leave your racist bullshit out of it. Don't call someone a culture vulture and then say what he does is cool. You sound like a stupid motherfucker.
is he wearing makeup? his face is way different than his neck…?
